Men’s Newsletter – December 2017

Hi Gents

I would like to start by wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year from Chris and myself . I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas celebrations.
I have seen from all of the weekly reports you have kept yourselves busy with a wide variety of races . Members have taken part in Weekly Park Runs , Half Marathon at Bovington, Winter Wobble 10 mile alcohol run . Getting closer to Christmas was the Elves 11 and Fancy dress park runs and not forgetting the Essex Vets XC and that’s just a few ! Well done to everyone.
Our very own Forrest Gump Paul Blackwall continues to to clock up his marathon total . In his words ” I have only ran 31 this year ” due to injury and work . His total to date is 137 ! Paul was back out on his feet again New Years Day in Kent so I am sure that by the time this letter comes out he no doubt would have completed number 138 ! Well done Paul .
Please continue to turn out in mass for this season 53-12 XC.  The next race is at the Suffolk Food Hall at Ipswich on 14th January. The end of season xc meal date and venue hasn’t been confirmed yet but it’s possibly around 16th or 17th March . This will be confirmed at a later date .
Just a little reminder about our Half Marathon 4th February, this is a very important race for our club so if you haven’t already done so can you please offer to help  . Please contact Russ in the first instance.

Sometimes I find this and difficult task to do . This month I have chosen a man who puts the miles in and just get on with it. He has had a busy December racing with Bovington half marathon  ( and some ) Elves 11,  Witham 5 and a couple of park runs thrown in . An inspiration. John Bush you are the runner of the month.  Well done.
Look forward to catching up with everyone soon .
