Ladies Newsletter – December

Hello Ladies,

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you all had a great Christmas. It was fantastic to see so many well deserved awards at our Presentation evening, reward for all your hard work throughout the year. Thanks to Vicky and Eric for a most enjoyable evening.

Thank you to all who turned out to help at GBRC Parkrun takeover showing that we don’t only take part, we give back as well. Yet another sea of blue! Completing a busy weekend was Roger’s Trail Run with more mud and huge fun especially the soup and the (non alcoholic) mulled wine and mince pies at the finish. Thank you Roger for another great event, some of you even saw Father Christmas! Sadly he’d been whisked off on his sleigh by the time I got back…

There were two Cross Country events this month with another good turnout from you all, 3rd place at Harwich and 4th at Halstead. Combined with the men’s results we are lying in 4th place overall at the half way stage with a 3pt lead over our nearest rivals, Harwich. Next race is Sunday 12th Jan at a new course in Ipswich so keep up the good work – you know you enjoy it! The Junior Babes continue to do well with Katie gaining 2nd in her age category in both these events and Milly, 3rd at Halstead. As if you hadn’t had enough mud Lex, Jo, Vicky P and Lindsay braved Runners V Riders at Friday Woods on Boxing Day with Katie and Milly taking part in the first ever U13 race.

Jo has now moved to Wymondham, Norfolk and starts hers new job tomorrow. I know you will join me in wishing her well.

Katie

Harrison and Millie Halstead

Runner of the month for December goes jointly to Katie and Milly Presland. They both hold places in the lead table for cross country in their respective age groups and Katie is showing great improvement since joining the training sessions. Well done, girls and keep up the good work!

I wish you all a successful and injury free running year ahead – see you at Ipswich xcountry on Sunday!
