Micky Edwards 2022 H4 Race Report


Wednesday 6th July – 4th handicap

Fourth and the final handicap of the series saw 25 runners taking part.
First crossing the line was Paul Hughes with 46 seconds improvement. Paul was consistently improving on every handicap which makes his last performance very impressive indeed. Second most improved runner was Adam Waller-Toyne (41 seconds) and third Caroline Talbot (32 seconds)

Top 3 fastest male times: Mark Jasper (17:49), Gerry Gladden (21:18), Raymond Baggs (21:41)

Top 3 fastest female times: Lisa Briggs (22:00), Grainne Hallahan (23:38), Beverly Shortley (23:51)

The fastest male time for the whole series: 17:05 – Doug McGillivray at Handicap 3

The fastest female time for the whole series: 22:00 – Lisa Briggs at Handicap 4

Well done to both Doug and Lisa. To achieve these impressive times they have improved on every handicap they ran.

Apart from Paul, Doug and Lisa the following runners also improved on at least three handicaps:
Natalie Martin, Stephen Cartwright, Daniel Whymark, Brian Telford, Mark Jasper – Well done!

And the winner of the whole series is:

Natalie Martin with 287 points – CONGARTULATIONS!

Natalie improved for over two minutes throughout the whole series. Well done!

Join second place belongs to Paul Hughes and Stephen Cartwright with 284 points. Great effort – only 3 points behind the leader.

In total we had 83 different runners taking part posting 208 different times ranging from 17:05 to 48:45 with the average 5k time of 26:03. There were 87 separate improvements over the course of the series – well done to all who achieved that. And the last statistic: all running times added together comes to 90h 19m 26s.
