Training 20th February to 27th February

This week’s sessions have been sent by Caroline, so please check your inbox to see what is on the offer. Notes from Caroline:

I hope you have battened down the hatches (and trampolines etc) and stay safe from the forecast storm. Lots of outdoor public places are closed so it was a wise decision to cancel the Friday morning early. We don’t do this often, but your safety is our first priority at every session.
Good luck to all of you taking part in the last XC this Sunday. It is a great course to finish on, and one that is best left to the end!
On Monday, we have two hill sessions on offer – Colchester is back this week with Kenyan hills, which works on your stamina to maintain the same pace up and down the hill. Lights will be needed as Balkerne Hill does not have street lighting at the moment – something I have tweeted Essex Highways about more than once.
Clacton hills are meeting at Burr Road this week at the usual time of 6:30pm with Paul C.
On Wednesday, there is an intervals session outdoors with Marion, or an indoor strength and conditioning session with Paul C at Great Bentley.
On Thursday, the session at the track is on the 500m track and it will involve paired efforts, of different distances. I will be continuing to focus on the arm drive at this session – muscle memory will kick in, I promise!
On Friday, the morning run will hopefully be storm free and happening at 7:30am as usual meeting at Chanterelle car park, Highwoods.
I have added next Sunday’s run to the doodle poll to, to give Vicky an idea of numbers – one of the sessions is a 14 mile self guided trail run, using one of Rodger’s trail instructions. This will be unaccompanied (no Leader) but Rodger’s instructions are very clear. If you wish to do this, please sign up to the correct poll choice so Vicky can get the instructions printed off. The other run, led by Vicky, will be 7 miles long and mostly on roads. If you wish to have a cuppa at the end, don’t forget to bring your own mug.

High Vis/Reflective clothing and lights are needed.

Sessions will still be on doodle poll. If a session has no takers, the leader can cancel the day before the session is due to take place. Please try to support these sessions as much as possible. If you can not find a link to current doodle poll please contact Mags at magskom.com@gmail.com
