A cold weekend’s racing.

The 25th Anniversary Benfleet 15 took place on Sunday 18th January. This tough, multi terrain race saw Blue Vest Vicky Presland finish 3rd in the FV35 age group, taking just 2:04:24 to complete the course. Ben Ficken clocked 1:53:43, John Booty 1:59:47, Patrick Reynolds 2:07:41, Michael Clark 2:52:47 and Helene Tyler 3:13:45.

Folksworth 15 was held on the same day, at which Barbara Law and Frank Gardiner ran in very cold and icy conditions. Despite suffering badly with cramp in the last mile, Law still clocked 2:31:43, a diamond standard time for her FV65 age group. Gardiner finished in 2:21:10, a bronze standard MV60 time.

Also on Sunday, Debbie Cubberley and Ade Cherry took on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10k, where Cherry took 15 seconds off his previous PB to finish in 45 minutes exactly. Cubberley ran home in 59:29.
