The second leg of the 53-12 cross country league took place on Sunday 16th November at a new venue. Hosted by Colchester Harriers for the first time, the three lap race was held on Abbey Fields, Colchester. The results of this race saw the Blue Vests holding on to fourth position in the league, with the ladies team finishing the race in 6th place and the men in 5th. Scorers were Vicky Presland, Sophie Apps, Anna Mills and Steph Horner for the ladies, and Craig Warriner, Chris Warren, Russ Sharp, Ben Ficken, Clive Thomas, Dave Goldsmith, Charlie Keitch and Dan Foster for the men.
Eleven juniors turned out to run, Bentley’s biggest ever start, several of them for the first time. Some gutsy running saw the junior team hold on to their eighth position overall. Katie Presland led the team home, followed by Harrison Leek, Michael Oates, Eliza Morton, Aggie Richars, Emily Cook, Ben Lyon, Kieran Willey, Eve Cook, Amie Apps and Elisha Warren.
At the Parkruns, John Bush ran at Maldon, finishing in 30:36, a Parkrun PB. Colchester saw Ben Ficken finish 7th in 19:42, Claudia Keitch 26:01(PB), Scott Young 22:24, Kieron Hayes 26:12 and Pauline Burrows 27:42(PB).
