There were PBs aplenty at the Dedham 10k on Sunday 15th September, showing that the hill training on the route has paid off. Runners gaining PBs were Malcolm Jarvis 48:08, Lesley Fuller 56:44, Martin Owen 53:47, Liam Forbes 49:07, Bentley ladies took the team prize, they were Anna Lyon 46:39, Eileen Shadford 47:04(PB), Karen Skene 50:41 and Miriam Mark 51:55. First man home for Bentley and 10th place overall was Clive Thomas in 38:44. Other runners were Ed Brennan 44:09, Andy Fuller 45:44, Mark Ross 45:45, Phil Presland 46:30, Kevin James 48:23, Ryan Bedingfield 50:52, Frank Gardiner 50:43, Barry Martin 51:44, Lex Carlisle 54:21, Sandra James 1:11:23 and Michael Sommerlad 1:24:00.
At the Bupa Great North Run Patrick Reynolds completed the race in 1:43:31, while Jamie Neill ran home in in 1:40:47(PB) and Janine Simpson in 1:46:20.
The Donut Dash, in aid of Kidney Research saw competitors running 5k through Colchester’s Castle Park, stopping every 1k to eat a ring donut. Ben Ficken and Mark Crittendon completed the course, consuming all 5 donuts.
