Ladies Newsletter – September

Greetings Ladies,

I hope you are all well. I’m feeling a bit out of the running scene at the moment, so It was good to see some familiar and new faces at the Arena on Friday, as Cross Country prep comes in to action. Reading through the race reports, you continue to be a success. Well done to all!

Laura Emms started off September with an excellent start competing in the Kenilworth half marathon and achieving another PB. I’m glad to hear she is still keeping up the training away from Bentley.

As usual, there was an excellent turnout for the Langham 10k. Eileen, Fiona, Lorna, Lesley, Barbara, Claire, back from her jaunt in Australia, Belinda, Sandra and Ruth all completed the undulating course in impressive times. Katie did amazingly well to win the 4k race in her age category and Millie finished as second girl home in the 2k race. Names to also watch out for in the future are also Olivia and Katie Stevens, who competed in their first race.

The Bentley Ladies were the stars again at the Dedham 10k, where Anna, Karen, Eileen and Miriam took the ladies’ team prize. There must be quite a bit of silverware piling up at the moment! Lex and Sandra were also in fine form over this hilly course. Meanwhile, Janine continued her success as she took part in the BUPA Great North Run, finishing in a very respectable time.

Another month has passed and it is also another ‘calm’ one before the ‘storm’ of Cross country. There is also another Runner of the Month and this time Miss September goes to ‘EILEEN SHADFORD’. This lady is very quiet about her progress but her training has really gone up another gear and she is now beginning to reap the rewards. Keep it up!

And finally, thank you for all the responses to my email about the shopping/chilling out trip to Norwich on 9th November. I have the following names so far, but if you still want to join in or I have missed you off my list, please let me know by the end of this week; Barbara, Vicky L, Sue T, Sue S, Anita, Lex, Nicky, Jan, Chloe, Theresa, Emma, Caroline, Tori and Tonie. It will be a great day to catch up without the trainers!

Take care out there. Hopefully I will catch up with you soon,

Jo
