An outstanding 25 Blue Vests turned out for the Langham 10K on Sunday 8th September, 6 of whom came in the first 25 finishers. There were also 6 junior runners, some racing for the first time.
First man home for GBRC was Chris Warren, 14th, in 37:06. Ben Ficken and David Wright followed in 37:32 and 37:33 respectively, PBs for both of them. Clive Thomas finished shortly after in 37:55, taking first male master 50+. In 23rd place was Peter Pearce, 38:32. Charlie Keitch took a PB in 39:16. Jamie Neill did a tidy 45:00, swiftly followed by Phil Presland 45:09, slicing 90 seconds off his previous PB.
Other runners were: Andy Fuller 45:25, Kevin James 45:31, Mark Ross 45:40(PB), Shawn Leek 45:58, Patrick Reynolds 46:54, Eileen Shadford 47:37, Scott Young 49:01, Frank Gardiner 50:01, Eric Shaw 50:54, Liam Forbes, racing for the first time, 50:58, Lorna Sharp 51:23, Barry Martin 53:18, Fiona Carter 56:20, Martin Owen 56:51, Lesley Fuller 57:02(PB), Barbara Law 57:29, Mark Crittendon 58:53, Claire Reynolds 59:41, Belinda Palmer-Barnes 1:06:03, Sandra James 1:08:52, Ruth Metcalfe 1:15:07 and Michael Sommerlad 1:23:43, who took the prize for first male master 70+.
In the Junior races, Katie Presland won 1st under 14 in the 4k event, and Millie Presland was 2nd girl in the 2k event. Other GBRC juniors running the 2k were Katie Stevens, Olivia Stevens, James Blacker and Harrison Leek, all running their first race.
