We are nearing the end of another great year at Great Bentley Running Club. From one mile time trials to ultras across marsh and dale we have it all. But at this time of year, we also see runners donning their best festive outfits along with their cleaned trail shoes.
We will start with our parkrun round up.

Over on Mersea Island, Craig Mitchell ran his 100th parkrun in a time of 20:24: congratulations Craig! Other runners included John Ferdinand 32:35; Luke Groves 32:37 and Zoe Reynolds 38:28.
Now further afield:
Sizewell, Suffolk – Russell Clark 23:14;
Coldham’s Common, Cambridge – Fiona Gosling 29:39
Heaton, Manchester – Mark Hinton 34:36
Fælledparken parkrun, Copenhagen – Rob Dyer 21:31
Even further afield, Chusa Batis revisited the Solidarity Run in Spain running the 10km distance valiantly after being unwell all week. She finished in 54:12. Well done Chusa, rest up now and Feliz Navidad to you.
Topday Events hold an off road trail run called Elves 11 near Maldon, just before Christmas and we had a few Bentley elves taking part. Well done to Neil Robins, Emma Levett-Welham and Leoni Harvey for completing the very waterlogged 11 mile course.
Finally, a quick mention to Vicky and Phil Presland for offering a mix of running routes on Sunday for our intrepid Sunday morning runners, looks like fun was had by all and the hospitality matched the smiles in this photo!
It has been a pleasure to coach many of you this year and watch all your achievements and occasionally get to write about them in the race report. However you are spending the next few days, I wish you a peaceful, happy time and here’s to a successful 2020 for Great Bentley Running Club.
