Merry Christmas Everyone

Good evening everyone. With the festive season nearly upon us, last week was a quite week on the races front, but still some bits to talk about, so read on……

Chusa Batis ran a 10k race in glorious sunshine in sunny Spain, with her brother running a 5k at the same time. Chusa took in the sights (which included a bare-chested man with a white tu-tu and a red thong) to run a 50:42 gun time, and ended with a club champs spot. The only disappointment was the can of sprite instead of a can of beer in the finishers goody bag.

John Bush and Belinda Palmer Barnes ran the Run Rudolph Run 5k event at a wet and muddy Chantry park on Sunday. This was a handicap race on the original Ipswich parkrun course with a fast runner dressed as Rudolph the reindeer, the idea being you had to finish before he overtook you. Belinda beat the reindeer to finish in (31:01) but the sneaky reindeer overtook John towards the finish. John finished in 33.30. The event was in aid of MS-UK. Despite the cold and wet they both enjoyed the run.
