Sunday 8th February saw Great Bentley Running Club host their annual half marathon. The sun shone, the rain held off and it wasn’t as windy as last year. The fast flat course gave rise to a host of PBs and club standards too. First Bentley man to cross the finish line was Ben Ficken, who finished in 1:22:28, 39th place. Following him was Phil Presland 1:35:52(PB), Malcolm Jarvis 1:40:46, Paul Hollidge 1:41:48 – a PB by 3 minutes and a Bronze standard – Ade Cherry 1:44:18(PB) and Lee Clarkson 1:45:11. Luke Groves slashed 7 minutes off his previous PB to finish in 2:11:00 with pacer Martin Owen. First Bentley lady home was Steph Horner in 1:44:26, while Linzi Iddon took a huge 17 minutes off her PB, clocking 2:21:03.
