Parkrun PBs!

The Blue Vests were out in force on Saturday 8th November’s Colchester Parkrun, with 15 members taking part. 10 year old Milly Presland took a whopping 1m 52s off her pb to finish in 24:06, a bronze club standard in her age group. Sandra James also had a great run, slicing 1m 16s off her time to PB in 30:34. Russ Sharp finished in 5th position overall in just 17:59, with Ben Ficken 10th in 18:49. Other runners were Dan Foster 19:28, Malcolm Jarvis 20:59, Phil Presland 22:37, Vicky Presland 24:07, Caroline Searle 27:04(PB), Scott Young 27:22, Claudia Keitch 27:25(PB), Deborah Cubberley 27:31(PB), Belinda Palmer-Jones 28:41, Helene Tyler 30:24, and John Bush 31:01.
Chusa Bautista Fructuoso and Lee Clarkson ran the inaugural Harlow Parkrun on the same day. They finished in 29:39 and 23:50 respectively.
On Remembrance Sunday Great Bentley runners competed in 2 commemorative events, the Bexhill Poppy half marathon and Stebbing Remembrance Day 10. Don Welsh and Gary Hill ran the rather windy Bexhill half, Welsh finishing in 2:16:21 and Hill in 2:07:01. The Stebbing run was preceded by a short memorial service outside the church, after which runners made their way to the start line. Luke Groves achieved a PB in 1:41:43, a 4 minute improvement on his previous 10 mile time, and Martin Owen clocked 1:20:33, 7 minutes faster than last year. Other runners were Steph Horner 1:18:23, Darren Horner 1:10:50, Kevin Stevens 1:10:56, Frank Gardiner 1:27:41 and Lynsey Apps 1:41:53.
Endurance runners Shawn Leek, Charlie Keitch and Patrick Reynolds ran the Kings Forest 50k race on Saturday 8th November. Keitch finished in 4th place, taking 4 hours and 15 minutes exactly to complete the course. Leek finished in 5 hours 23 minutes and Reynolds in 4 hours 50 minutes.
