British 10k

Rodger Alexander completed race 4 of the Mid Essex Casuals quarter marathon series on Wednesday 17th July. He took 54m 13s to run the 6.2 miles of this leg, coming 19th overall. Alexander now lies 3rd in his age group.

The National Lottery Anniversary Run was held on Sunday 21st July. The 5 mile course finished on the track at the Olympic Stadium, Chris Warren, Kate Ellis and Malcolm Jarvis took part. Warren finished in 31m 20s, Ellis in 41m 58s and Jarvis 38m 05s.

Sunday 14th July saw the British 10k run held in London, competing were Chris Hayes and Jason Bennett. It was a very hot run, Hayes clocked 1:01:13 and Bennett 57:08. These two have had a busy week, both also ran the 4th leg of the Harwich 5 k series on the evening of Thursday 18th July, claiming 25:15 and 24:25 (PB) respectively. They both then went on to run the Brantham 5 mile race the next evening. This quite challenging course was run I near perfect weather conditions, and Hayes came home in 46:02, while Bennett took 43:20.

At the Ipswich Parkrun on Saturday 20th July, Karen Skene ran in 23:54 a PB for her . She was first in her age group (45+) and 3rd lady overall.
