Ealing Half Marathon- Sunday 28th September.

The Ealing Half Marathon is West London’s only fully road closed half marathon and voted the UK’s best half marathon three years in a row making it a must-do race in the running calendar.  The route is a single lap taking in parts of central Ealing, Montpellier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephen’s before returning to and finishing at Walpole Park.

Continuing with her incredible running streak Donna Harris completed this half with another PB in 1:57:13 and describing the route she said it was a hilly one but well supported all around the route.  Well done Donna, congratulations on your PB and Good Luck in Dublin!

Warsaw Marathon- Sunday 28th September

Mags Komorowska stormed round this marathon with a time of 3:39:52 despite having a few issues with her hamstring recently. The route takes you through landmarks of the Capital city of Poland and what particularly stands out is the lovely story regarding the finishers medal which is made of 2 sections, one section which Mags will be handing to her Dad who trained for the first Warsaw marathon in 1979 but sadly he could not run due to an injury therefore she wanted to finish what he started. Congratulations Mags amazing performance, your family and your GBRC family are very proud of you. Fantastic running.

Mags- that smile says it all!

Dorney Lake Duathlon- Saturday 4th October

Our Chairman, Paul Davison travelled to Windsor for the opportunity of racing around this unique and inspiring Olympic venue and completed the Duathlon. It was in Paul’s words a ridiculously windy race which consisted of 10k run, 39k bike and finishing with a 5k run. Paul was 15th overall and 3rd in age category. Hopefully next time will be less calm conditions but fantastic, well done Mr Chairman!

Southend 10K- Sunday 5th October Essex County 10k Championship Event.

Steve Bullen took part in this race, which is described as a flat out and back, traffic-free course along Southend seafront and incorporating a section on the wide footpaths of Gunners Park. Despite “Storm Amy” and a rushed start with no opportunity of a warmup Steve had a magnificent run finishing in 39:18. Well done Steve another spectacular race.

Sunday 5th October- Chester Marathon.

This marathon is the 6th largest marathon in the UK and 3 times winner of the UK’s Best marathon and it is also the only marathon in the UK that spans across both England and Wales, the route takes in the beautiful surrounding landscapes and villages that both Counties have to offer. Kelly Hayhoe completed this marathon in an incredible time of 03:35:16 taking an unbelievable 40 mins off her PB. Fantastic running Kelly, very well done.
