Run Sandringham 24

This event is a 24-trail hour race where you run against the clock to see how many multi terrain 5-mile laps you can complete before the time runs out! It is based within the Sandringham Estate (the Winter residents of the King and Queen!)

Melanie Moore and her daughter Bethanie completed this event opting for an upgrade in accommodation where they stayed in a Tepee, now that is my idea of camping or rather Glamping! Does anyone know if you can hire these at the Spitfire!!!

Congratulations to both Melanie and Beth who finished this event in 3rd place in the female pairs category and clocking up a staggering 80 miles between them both. Huge achievement Ladies and well done to you both.

Park Runs

Shorne Woods

Martin and Sammy Cotton travelled to Gravesend to complete the Shorne Woods Park run which stands in the Shorne Woods Country Park described as the jewel in the crown of Kent Countryside, with its dramatic views across the Thames marshes and set in 288 acres of ancient broadleaved woodland, rolling open meadows and around ponds. Sounds idyllic. Well done to you both.

Holyrood Parkrun (Not Park run!)

Slightly further afield than Kent Caroline Searle enjoyed a weekend break in Edinburgh and whilst there she intended taking part in the Holyrood Parkrun unfortunately due to recent wildfires the event was cancelled so Caroline opted for her own 5k around Holyrood. Well done Caroline it looks like you also had great weather up there in Bonny Scotland.

Caroline Searle- Holyrood

Eastbourne

Mary Taylor visited Eastbourne PR where the course is mainly a tarmac path around Shinewater Lakes. The first section of the course is on grass around a field then continues along the tarmac path going around the Shinewater Lakes finishing with a final lap on the field. This looks like a lovely course and very importantly FLAT!!  Well done Mary and hope you enjoyed your bank holiday weekend break.

Mary- Eastbourne Park run.

Eden Project

Whilst on holiday Katie Collin completed Parkrun at the Eden Project. This course starts by the “Banana” Coach and car park and goes to the top of the crater before descending into two and two-thirds anti clockwise laps which zig zag inside the crater then passing around the core and in front of the Mediterranean and Rainforest Biomes. On the final lap you reach the entrance of the biomes. Well done Katie, great running and many thanks for sharing the route with us.

Highwoods

A lovely turnout on Saturday at Highwoods Park Run to celebrate Tomasz Komorowski 250th Park run birthday. What an incredible milestone, Well done and Congratulations to you Tom.

ASICS LDNX- Wembley Stadium

Dan Palmer has made his comeback having recently got married and on honeymoon where he completed this brand new 10K event in an amazing time of 49:32.

The event itself is a brand new one where the route starts indoors of the Wembley Stadium before heading out onto closed roads passing iconic features such as the Bobby Moore statue and finishing on the Olympic Way.

Superb run Dan, great to see you back racing and congratulations on your recent marriage.

Dan with his well deserved medal
