Saturday was a rare day for races this weekend, with the Stour Valley marathon and half marathon taking place from Nayland. This is an undulating, self navigated trail run, which seems to attract hot weather. This year was no exception. Doug McGillivray won the original loop half marathon in a time of 1:35:24. There were two route options for the half this year. Other participants of the half marathon were: (original loop) Adam Waller-Toyne 1:59:25, Fraser Lewis 2:12:51, Paul Arnold 2:25:59, Nick Eddings 2:34:11 and Yolande Arnold 2:42:01.

In the marathon, Magdalena Komorowska was the third lady home, in a course PB of 4:57:51, well done! Malcolm Statham ran 4:23:03, whilst Tim Clifton ran it in 6:35:18 on day 1184 of his running streak.

Meanwhile many of you took part in parkruns around the country. Well done to Craig Mitchell for crossing the line first at Highwoods parkrun. John Bush visited Burnham on Crouch parkrun, whilst the Preslands opted for the grassy hill of Wimpole Hall Estate in Cambridgeshire. Laura Cook, Natalie Martin and Bee Harris are having to travel further on their tourism quest, this week visiting Thornham Walks in north Suffolk. All results can be found here. Xander Briggs ran junior parkrun in 14:23.
