This Saturday saw over 30 of you take to a parkrun near you, or in the case of the Dyers, find a parkrun, near where you are at 9am! They went to Basingstoke parkrun and ran in 27:53 and 27:56. Anna Lyon is putting her training to good use, coming in third lady at Harwich, and Ivy-Rose Hallahan ran her first sub 30 minute 5km, also at Harwich, well done! All other results can be seen here. Xander Briggs braved the rain on Sunday morning to run Colchester Junior parkrun.
There was another outing to a Long Distance Walking Association event this weekend, taking place in Bedfordshire. The Sundon Saunter is a triennial event, with the Shillington Shuffle and Steppingley Step taking place in the other years. There was a choice of 12, 17 or 27 miles. Scott Young and Paul Hollidge did the shorter route whilst Vicky Presland and Deborah Hollidge went for the 17-18 mile route. Report was that Bedfordshire is a lot hillier than they expected!
Sunday was quieter this week on the racing front. Hadleigh Hares held their 5 and 10 mile race, an undulating course around the Suffolk countryside. Peter Benton and Helen Carey ran this together and came in in 1:26:37 and 1:26:38 respectively. Well done for braving the weather! Looks like a good one lap course, may be one for some of you to consider next year.

The RNLI raise funds at this time of year by holding Reindeer Runs. These are normally 10k in distance. This year Clacton RNLI hosted one and five Bentley Blues donned antlers and took part. Alison Clarke, Debbie Smith, Laura Cook, Louise and David Balfour, not forgetting a mention for Barney the dog!

Adam Waller-Toyne found another set of ultras to tick off the list. He took part in the two day Rangers Peak District South and North Ultras. He completed both stages in a time of 14:02:53. Day one, the White Peak, started in Ashbourne and finished in Edale was 50km. Day two, the Dark Peak, started in Marsden and ran back to Edale with a total of 43km. Well done Adam, especially as he was at hills on Tuesday!

P.S The featured picture this week is from Sunday’s social run, reminding you that there’s fun to be had running in a groups at 8:30am on a Sunday (excluding XC dates, which are even more fun!)
