Two feet versus two wheels!

This week has been relatively quiet on the racing front; holidays, and two wheels seem to be factors in this.

Tuesday saw the last of the Harwich 5k series. It was a windy night on the prom and so there was some varied times out there from everyone: Colin Farmer 21:11; Richard Moor 22:00; Stuart Baggs 33:02; Kevin James 24:04; Gary Hill 26:06; Teresa Farmer 30:53; Peter Reeve 35:14; Teresa Jones 29:31; Scott Young 23:36; David Jones 26:04; Paul Connell 20:39; Rag Baggs 21:40; Barbara Law 31:42; Tricia Stacey 25:49; Rita Page 43:02 and David Nugent in 51:24.

And finally – Mersea Island: Charlie Keitch 19:20 and Claudia Keitch in 27:09.

Not to be outdone whilst being on holiday Anthea Colsell got up bright and early to find her nearest beachrun! Anthea and Tommy joined two others, Anthea coming home in 25:03 and Tommy 19:32. A warm, but satisfying start to their Saturday!

On Sunday at Colchester junior parkrun, Angel Jasper ran the 2km route in 9:01 and Rodger Ferguson ran home in 14:31, a PB. Well done Rodger! Over in Clacton, The Welhams and Wakelings ran the 2km seafront route. Brody Wakeling ran in 12:37 and Laci ran in 15:08. Poppy Welham ran in 15:07, a PB, and Albie Welham ran in 20:23. Well done Poppy!

Magdalena Komorowska ran the Regents Park 10k series race, a three lap course, which is flat and passes the zoo. She ran in 48:53 and reported it as a hard course; something I can concur. It is a deceiving course!

Two wheels came into play for some of you this weekend with Triathlons and the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100. Tomasz Komorowski completed it in just over 6 hours and Chusa Batis completed it in just over 8.5 hours. Both reported that the course was congested at times which forced stops and walking. Well done to you both for tackling Box Hill!

Luke Groves took part in the Cotswold 113; doing really well but coming up against a foot injury during the run stage.

Leoni and Sasha Harvey took part in the Elmer charity run that allowed them to find a number of Elmer statues around Ipswich.

Scott Young, Deborah and Paul Hollidge took part in a Way of the Runner running exploration on Dartmoor with Adharanand Finn, author and ultra runner. All had a good day and would recommend it.
