GBRC vs Harwich inter club road race – 4th January‏

An inter-club road race between Great Bentley Running Club and Harwich Runners members. The route is around quiet lanes of Little Bromley and Great Bromley. Runners will have the chance to run a flat, fast 10-mile course, offering the potential for personal bests, placements in club championships, or a solid training run. Following the success of the previous event, the 2026 edition will again utilize the same two-lap course.

Registration 8:45 to 9:15 AM
Start at approximately 9:30 AM

Race HQ:
Great Bromley Village Hall – Parsons Hill, Great Bromley, Colchester CO7 7JA
Due to limited car park outside the Village Hall please car share where possible.
Toilets are available in the Village Hall.

Start
Start is located a bit further along Mary Lane North and is around 15 minutes walk from the Village Hall.
Please keep the noise down at the start line as we in the residential area.

Route:
As the race is on the open roads please be mindful of cars and other road users.
During the winter season there are potentially some standing water, mud, loose leaves and potholes on the country lanes around Great Bromley so please be extra careful.
In case of emergency please let marshal know and we will arrange help.
There will be one water station on route.

Finish
Finish is now located past the Village Hall at the Black Lane West. It is also a residential lane so please keep the noise downs.
At the finish you will receive a token with your position.
Please make sure you will hand it over to Meera who is responsible for scoring.

Tea / Coffee
Tea / Coffee will be provided at the Village Hall
Please bring your own mugs

Harwich Runners will again be our guests. Every runner will score and the winning team will be based on the points accrued. There will be male and female categories.
