Wednesday 31st May – 2nd handicap
We had 42 runners attending the 2nd handicap race on the 31st May. Although it was late May, the evening was unexpectedly chilly and windy. People were eager to start their run to stay warm. If it hadn’t been for a strong headwind on the way back, the running conditions would have been ideal.
After waiting around 15 minutes a sea of runners emerged behind the corner and raced to the finish line. Similar to the previous handicap more than half of the times were improved – great running.
Top 3 most improved runners are: Scott Brian, Stewart Baggs and Adam Waller-Toyne
Top 3 fasted male times: Doug McGillivray (17:16), Mark Jasper (17:43), Charlie Keitch (18:01)
Top 3 fasted female times: Lisa Briggs (20:38), Meera Rajoo-Oakley (22:33) and Beverly Shortley (23:53)
After two handicaps Stewart Baggs is leading with 197 points followed by Anthea Colsell (185) and Stephen Walsh (182). With two more races remaining there is still a lot to play for.

These races are for any Great Bentley Club members. The more the merrier. It’s a great chance to test yourself on the flat course or catch up with your fellow runners post-race.
These races are not possible without marshals.
