Put your ‘heart and sole’ into it!

Parkrunning after a night out seems to be a hangover/wake up cure for a few of our Bentley Blues (this is not endorsed by coach though!) Yet it seems to have worked for Magdalena Komorowska who got a Highwoods parkrun course pb in 23:38. Paul and Deborah Hollidge also ran this parkrun the morning after the night before!

There were lots of you out and about at parkruns this weekend. Joshua Beaumont got a course pb of 18:34 at Colchester Castle as did Mark Jasper at Harwich in 17:41. Well done to the Sharp brothers, following in their parents footsteps with course pbs at Harwich (maybe overall pbs for 5k) with Connor running in 22:01 and Charlie in 22:10. Connor knocked off 1:30 and Charlie 1:28 – fantastic work boys! Meera ran her fastest parkrun at Colchester since covid era. Hélène Tyler joined a Running Colchester tourism parkrun at the aptly named Valentines parkrun in Ilford, whilst Laura Cook, Bee Brent, Andrea Markwick and Natalie Martin went UFO hunting in Rendlesham Forest! You can see all the results here.

On Sunday the Hallahan trio were out enjoying Colchester junior parkrun. Between them they have run 128 junior parkruns, that’s 256km!

Hare and Tortoise Events celebrated their 6 year anniversary with a multi distance trail run – ‘Rayne’ing Medals Anniversary run on Sunday. Adam Robey ran a half marathon PB in 1:46:06. Tim Clifton doubled the distance and ran a marathon in 4 hours 51 minutes. Paul Davison decided that he would run for over 5 hours and clocked up 36.5 miles leading the 6 hour event, great efforts, all of you!

Lisa Briggs is starting 2023 as she finished 2022, all guns blazing! Even with a chaotic start to the race she bagged a PB of 43:58 for the Norfolk Gazelles Valentines 10k.

Deborah Hollidge and Vicky Presland completed the Surrey LDWA Punchbowl 20 miler, although they ran the inaugural Punchbowl 22.47 after making a wrong turn at one point!
