We’ve been busy little blue bee’s again this week, starting the weekend with the usual parkrun enthusiasm. Charlie Keitch hit his 200 milestone at Highwoods where he ‘took it easy’ finishing in 25:22.

More milestones were celebrated with some tourism at Bury St Edmunds parkrun where Bee H and Leoni achieved their 50th and 100th parkruns. Still some way to go to catch Charlie! There was cake and lots of mud so happy faces all round. Even Bev who notoriously hates mud had a fab time!

On Sunday it looks like we had the choice of mud or muddier with the options being Cross Country at Writtle or the muddy hills of Benfleet 15. Despite a few being lured to Benfleet, XC saw a great turnout with our women coming in 3rd place and our men in 4th. We are currently 4th in our pool but closing that gap on Witham! If you haven’t yet tried XC, it’s great fun and you definitely need to!

At Benfleet Doug was the 1st blue back with an amazing 9th place finish in 1:44:32. Hot on his heels were Tim Ballard (1:50:12), Craig M (2:16:43), John Booty (2:22:39), Tricia (2:28:08) and Dave J (3:12:34) despite having issues with his calf.
