Despite the second Cross Country fixture of the season to look forward to on Sunday, there was still plenty of parkrun action on Saturday morning.
40 of our runners, completed at a total of 13 different courses including:
- Robbie Lee, who completed Harwich parkrun 21:26;
- Scott Young, who was in Manchester and finished Peel parkrun in 24:40;
- Gráinne Hallahan, who was preparing for XC at a muddy Harrow Lodge parkrun, where she finished in 25:02;
- Dave Jones who completed Clacton seafront parkrun in 27:56;
- Anna Lyon who was at Tamar Lakes parkrun, where she ran with her sister, Jane Brimacombe in a time of 27:05 ; and
- Kathy Bishop, Leoni Harvey, Laura Cook, Bee Brent and Emma Welham who all made a visit to Markshall Estate parkrun.

Sunday, however, saw the main event of the weekend as Great Bentley turned out in force at Gosfield School for a very challenging Cross County course which included fields, woods, epic ‘puddles’ and a few too many ups and downs, which is just the way we like it. Thanks to some very strong performances throughout our men’s and women’s teams, we finished fourth on the day and are currently fourth in Pool A. You can see the full results on the NESS Cross Country League website.
Avoiding the mud of Cross Country were Adam Robey and Josh Beaumont who both made the journey to London for the London Half Marathon and 10k at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Adam took on the 10k event, finishing in the fantastic time of 54:15, whilst Josh took on the full 13.1 miles. Josh had a brilliant race and crossed the line in a new PB of 1:22:05. Great running, chaps!
